Maple tree leaf type4/9/2024 Some of these problems can be avoided if properly pruned when young to promote a single leader and elimination of weak branches. This is a desirable characteristic, but it tends to be somewhat susceptible to wind damage and breakage later in life. As a shade tree silver maple has been used extensively in Iowa, mostly because of its fast growth rate. It is one of the largest trees in Iowa attaining heights of often a 100 feet and from 4-5 feet in diameter.įall color of silver maple ranges from green-yellow brown to yellow to brown. Silver maple is a fast growing tree, often growing 4-6 feet in height each year. It prefers moist locations such as these bottomlands, but is quite tolerant of a wide range of sites from moderately wet to quite sandy and dry. It is usually found in association with cottonwoods, willows, boxelder, green ash, hackberry, and black walnut. It can be found on stream banks and floodplains and is a common component of the bottomland forests. The bark is smooth, light gray on young trees it eventually separates into irregular rows of long, scaly, ashy colored plates on older trees. The fruit is a broad angle double samara, 1-2 1/2 inches long and matures in late spring or early summer. The tree flowers very early in the spring flowers are tiny, red in color and often hidden by the bud scales. The flower buds are formed in conspicuous clumps. The buds are bright red to dark reddish purple, 1/8 to 1/4 inch in length. Silver Maple Flower Buds - Photo by Paul Wray, Iowa State University Seed Stratification: No stratification period is needed. Site requirements vary with the species of maple. Site Requirements: Maple trees perform best in moist, well-drained soils. Height: Mature height varies with species. Tree canopies may be very dense or wide spreading. Mature Shape: Maples typically have a large, rounded crown. Slower growing maples have heavier, harder wood, making them less susceptible to branch and limb drop. Maples that are fast growing tend to have weak wood and may suffer from wind and ice damage. When selecting a maple tree, be sure to select a species suited for Iowa's weather. Most fall into zones 4 through 8, but some are less tolerant of cold or heat than others. Habitat: Grows on dry open woods, rocky bluffs and pastures. Silver Maple Tree - Photo by Paul Wray, Iowa State University Winter twigs are rather slender, dull red or red-brown in color with v-shaped leaf scars. The pale undersurface often gives the tree a "silvery" appearance from a distance in the gentle breezes. The lobes are often very deep the margins of the leaves are toothed and the upper surface is bright green while the lower surface is silvery, white in color. The leaves are opposite, simple, and palmately lobed with five lobes. They are essentially winged seeds that twirl to the ground when ripe, much to the delight of children who get caught in a shower of “whirlybirds.Silver maple ( Acer saccharinum) is the fastest growing maple either native or planted in Iowa. Another thing that all maples have in common is their fruit, called samaras. They are subject to wood rot and landowners have to pay the high cost of tree removal or risk collapse. Quick growth results in brittle branches that break and fall easily, often causing property damage. Landscapers use these trees to get quick results, but they may become a problem in the landscape as they age. Their rapid growth results in a soft wood. Soft maples include a wide variety of trees, such as red and silver maples. They are dull green on top and a lighter color underneath. Hard maples usually have leaves with moderate indentations. The lobes on some maples are mere indentations in the leaves, while others have lobes so deeply divided that a single leaf can look like a cluster of individual, thin leaves. All maples have leaves divided into three, five, or seven lobes. These trees are important to the lumber industry and include black maples and sugar maples, known for their superior quality syrup. Hard maples grow very slowly and live a long time. One distinction between the two maple tree types is the rate of growth. To make maple tree identification a little easier, let's begin by dividing them into two main groups: hard and soft maples. With all of the variations, it's hard to pinpoint a few obvious features that make a tree a maple. Maple trees are members of the genus Acer, which includes a lot of variety in size, shape, color, and growth habit.

Online internet speed test4/9/2024 Knowing that the issue isn't anything on your end means you can forgo any troubleshooting.įinally, you can call your provider to ensure your modem supports your plan's speed or to see if there are plans or promotions that will be worth an upgrade, so you can get the speeds you need to have a stress-free day of work and play. The app will give you an estimated restoration time when there is one. The first thing I do when my Comcast Xfinity connection is acting flaky is open the Xfinity My Account app and look for any service issues. You can also check your provider's app or website for an outage. However, there are steps you can take to determine if that's the case or if there's another issue at fault. It's a frustrating fact, but ISPs are allowed to throttle your connection speed. The answer isn't as easy as calling your internet service provider and informing them of the subpar service. CNET's Ry Crist has further tips on how to get better, faster Wi-Fi to help you get your network back to working as it should. Most of the time, this fixes any speed issues for me. I recommend turning off your modem and wireless router, leaving them off for about 60 seconds, and then turning them back on. Ry Crist/CNET What to do if your speed is slower than it should be There's potentially more than one reason your internet may be slow. If your router was purchased in the last couple of years, odds are it's fine, and the issue is due to something else. Router technology, like any other technology, often changes, and that can lead to performance issues. However, that may be the case, depending on how old it is. You don't have to rush out and buy a new router if the speed test results are lower than you expect or are paying for. Downdetector is the worlds most popular platform for online. Doch diese Angaben gelten nur unter optimalen Bedingungen. Using your wireless router's speed test may prove to be more accurate - in theory, at least - because the router is connected directly to your modem. Speedtest is the definitive way to test the performance and quality of an internet connection. DSL-Geschwindigkeit testen 25, 50, 100 oder gar 200 Megabit pro Sekunde versprechen euch Telekom, Vodafone, 1&1 und Co. It's best to start by looking at a dedicated app. For example, Google's Nest Wi-Fi can run a speed test in the app or ask Google Assistant how fast your internet connection is.Įero, Linksys and Asus ZenWifi routers also include the same capability, although not all support asking a smart speaker to run the test. Ookla/Screenshot by CNET Do a speed test on your wireless routerĭepending on your wireless router, it might be possible to run a speed test through its dedicated app. A speed test is a quick and easy way to determine if something's wrong.

Daily schedule for grade school kids4/9/2024 Here’s her weekly Class Connect schedule: My seventh-grader has Class Connects in four subjects: Math, ELA, Social Studies, and Science. These daily sessions feature live instruction from a professional teacher and interaction with other students. Our K12 Seventh Grade ScheduleĮach K12 student has live classes called “Class Connects”. Now – for a look at each child’s daily schedule. These totals vary by day, but it averages out to about this much. My seventh-grader, though, spends about 3.5 hours of class time online and about 2 hours in offline assignments. In fourth grade, the ratio is about 2 hours of online education to 3.5 hours of offline education per day. In upper elementary grades, though, kids start to spend more time with their online teachers. Younger children who use K12 tend to spend very little time in online classes and the vast majority doing offline work with their learning coaches (usually parents). Image c/o: seregam / depositphotos Our K12 Daily Schedule for Two GradesĪs you look at this schedule, keep in mind that this is the routine for our kids, who are in seventh and fourth grade. If you’re considering K12 for your kids, take a look at our daily schedule to see what it could look like in your family! Now, though, we’ve developed a K12 daily schedule for two grades that has simplified our daily routine quite a bit – something we really needed since we’re still homeschooling our two youngest kids. We’ve have seriously bumpy days, days that were awesome, and plenty in between. And adjusting to it has been…an interesting experience.Īfter years of relaxed homeschooling, shifting into a full school day based around live classes, offline assignments, and readings was a complete course change. Our two oldest children are trying a brand new method of home education this year: K12.

Anylogic tutorial4/8/2024 Read more: Internal sources of randomness in different types of AnyLogic models Ī computer is a deterministic device. Monte Carlo simulation results are statistically processed and typically represented as probabilities, histograms, scatter plots, envelope graphs, and more. A series of simulation runs with randomness (internal, at the input parameters level, or both) is called Monte Carlo simulation. So, you’d need to run it multiple times, even with the same input parameters. You won’t get representative simulation results from a stochastic model if you run it once. Monte Carlo simulation (click to enlarge) Sources of randomness inside and outside the model. So, each run (even with the same parameters) may give a different output. For example, if 10,000 individuals each have a 95% chance of surviving one year, we can be reasonably sure that 9,500 of them will survive.Ī stochastic model, on the other hand, does have internal sources of randomness. It runs with the same set of input parameters and gives the same output results. There are two types of models: stochastic and deterministic.Ī deterministic model doesn’t have internal randomness. The software supports different distribution types: uniform, triangular, exponential, and more.īut what if none of the pre-set functions fits your project? You can create your custom (empirical) distribution and use it in your model. Probability distribution and custom distributionĪnyLogic offers a set of probability distribution functions to model non-deterministic processes, like weather changes, product demand changes, or any other randomness. How can you model this delay? In AnyLogic, you can set a probability distribution. You’re modeling a bank, and you’d like to know how much time a manager needs to open a new bank account for a client.įrom your experience, it takes at least 10 min., most likely 20 min., and 40 min. How can you set randomness in your AnyLogic model? For that, you would need to include randomness in your simulation. When we build simulation models, we want them to reflect the real world as closely as possible. However, the first guests could arrive at 10 one day and 9:50 the next day, it could be two customers or a dozen entering at the same time. Here’s a simple example: imagine you own a café that serves hot beverages and delicious pastry to around 100 customers per day. Uncertainty is an essential part of our everyday lives.

Monopoly ultimate banking rules pdf4/8/2024 This player landed on a Property owned by a player that owns all three orange Properties. Should the owner have all of the cards of the corresponding color, they can charge you the “rent with color set” amount. The owner does not own the other orange Properties. This player landed on a Property that another player owns. If the owner asks you for rent, you will pay the amount printed on the corresponding Title Deed. You only owe them rent if the owner asks you for it. Should you land on a Property that is owned by another player, you will have to pay them rent. If no one wants to bid on the Property, the Title Deed stays where it is and the auction is canceled. They will then take the corresponding Title Deed. Whoever bids the most pays the Bank their winning bid. Each bid has to raise the price by at least M10. Players do not have to take turns in the bidding process. If you don’t want the Property, you will put it up for auction. They pay the Bank M100 to acquire the Title Deed card. This player has landed on a Property that has yet to be purchased. You will then take the corresponding Title Deed card. To purchase the Property you will pay the price printed on the space to the Bank. If you land on a Property that is not owned by any players, you must either purchase or auction it. The Spaces of Monopoly Cheaters Edition Unowned Properties For more details check out the Cheating in Monopoly Cheaters Edition section below. If anyone cheated on the previous turn, they will reveal it at this time. Your turn ends as soon as the next player rolls the dice. If you roll doubles three times in a row, you will have to immediately move your token to Jail. Should you roll doubles, you will get to roll the dice again and take another turn. See the Spaces of Monopoly Cheaters Edition section below for more details. You will take the action corresponding to the type of space that it is. Look at the space that your token landed on. They move their playing piece five spaces clockwise around the gameboard. You will move your token clockwise around the board the number of spaces you rolled. You will begin your turn by rolling both of the dice. See the Cheat Cards section below for more details. You can complete Cheat cards even if it is not your turn. Free printable dinner meal planner4/8/2024 Here’s how it works: I’ve got little tags printed with my dinner “repertoire” that I pick out and put on the magnet board as I make my grocery list each week. You see, I didn’t like the meal-assigned-to-each-day method of meal planning…what if I didn’t feel like making chicken on Tuesday? Or I had a horrible day and just want to pick up a pizza? Or we got an invite for dinner at my parent’s house? This method of meal planning is still organized, but a little less rigid. That’s how this menu planning board was born! For me, that’s something with a little bit of wiggle room for life to happen. I prefer something in between chaos and perfect order that’s a little closer to reality – methods of organization that make it easier to stay on top of the mess rather than fall behind it. And when I try to attain something like that, I feel really great for the day or two that it actually works…then feel like crap when I get behind on keeping it up and discouragement sets in. I admire them, but that’s just not realistic to me. Don’t get me wrong, I “ooh” and “aah” over flawless labels on beautiful containers…or command centers with a place for everything…or spotless pantries with cans stacked perfectly…or weekly cleaning schedules with chalkboard checklists. I will freely admit, I am someone that feels stifled by too much organization. Last year, amidst the organization rush of New Year’s Resolution and frustrated with that question, I created a Meal Planning Guide as part of our family’s Command Center, and it has truly been a life saver for me. It’s almost like I expect our meal ingredients to light up with a neon sign and sing a little song – “use meeee to make the perfect dinner tonight!” Alas, that has yet to happen. Do you hate that 5:00 question as much as I do? You know the one…”what’s for dinner?” That of course is followed by the obligatory “dinner dance” of opening the pantry, fridge, and freezer, and staring blankly.
